My site serves several purposes as both a professional and personal landing space. I feel comfortable in this fact. I tend to live in the cracks and crevices that make others nervous. Which is to say that I believe in living and working holistically. While my blog and professional information are the primary purpose of this site, my personal interests support and drive my professional dedication. I have been this way as long as I can remember.
I am a newly-minted Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, an accomplishment I never expected I would achieve. I am excited to work as the new SIGS-Delphi Program Manager at The University of Louisville. I am responsible for graduate student and faculty professional development, and love being at the center of fantastic learning experiences as I return to the full-time employment for the first time in four years.
In the span of about six months, I’ve had some significant changes and accomplishments including running my first half marathon, successfully defending my dissertation, job searching, beginning a new position, finding a place to live with in a new city with my partner, and moving to said place in a new city with my partner. I am very excited about this place along my journey.
Prior to returning to school full-time, I spent four of the most fantastic years of my life in Wilmington, NC, working as a Residence Coordinator at The University of North Carolina Wilmington. My roots as a professional grew at this institution and most of the good things I do now I owe to the amazing people with whom I worked while there and the encouragement they gave me to grow into myself.
My home is Tennessee, both personally and professionally. I received my BA in English Literature and my MS in College Student Personnel from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. I am and always will be a Volunteer Fan – my blood definitely runs orange! I’m originally from a small Secret City (Oak Ridge, TN) just about a half hour northwest of Knoxville where I was raised to love music, mountains, and many people.
